Education Department
The Education Department facilitates the education of
the entire Tribal community from pre-kindergarten to adult.
Programs include after school tutoring, summer enrichment
programs, adult high school and GED preparation, college
and vocational training, career development and technical
skill acquisition. The Education Department communicates
and collaborates with students, parents, outside educational
agencies and health services and encourages family and
community involvement in the education of their children.
The Education Department also promotes cultural awareness
and activities to connect the past to the present.
Mission Statement
The Education Department's mission is to create a positive learning environment that promotes educational and social
development, healthy living and cultural awareness in order to sustain self sufficiency and a productive community.
Education Department Components
The Tribal Education Department provides many services to the Tribal Community. These services include:
- Group and one-on-one tutoring and instruction for Kindergarten through 12th grade students
- A GED and Adult High School Diploma program
- College Course offerings and assistance
- Computer training
- Adult literacy
- Skill development and employment preparation
- A Scholarship program for enrolled members
- Collaboration between local schools and parents
- Academic screening
- Educational Field Trips
- A summer enrichment program
- A summer kindergarten readiness program
- A lending and resource library
- Cultural Activities including a Me-Wuk language program

- Summer hours 8:00 to 4:00
- Hours during the school year –
- Adult Education -9:00 to 6:00
- Elementary Room 1:30 to 5:30
- Cultural Education 9:00 to 6:00
